craftland is filled with such awesome stuff, i picked a few items to feature here:
handmade soaps from xander morro, she even printed the beautiful boxes they are in!
there is also an amazing array of beautifully made dolls from mimi kirchner, including my personal favorite, the tattooed man.
craftland also has a large selection of wonderful prints, including these from little friends of printmaking.
these adorable stamp sets come from the multi-talented artist behind the small object.
why just have a painting, when you can get one that also talks! justin richel makes these small wonders, which craftland is lucky enough to have some on hand for endless hours of amusement.
last, and certainly not least, there is a very nice selection from happy owl glassworks from nights lights to even 'gifts for him' with these gorgeous cuff links.
there is a lot of great stuff at craftland! come on by, and buy handmade for the holidays! see you there!
Our opening party is on Friday at 5 PM and Craft is helping us celebrate! Brian Jepson will be demonstrating some funky LED projects. The Steel Yard will also be on hand with the portable forge.
Stop in to check out the demos and make a purchase or two. We'll also have free goodie bags for the first 300 customers and will be serving snacks and beverages. See you then!
we are in the space! today volunteers from the steel yard helped us move our various tables and many many christmas trees into the amazing space we will fill with crafty goodness soon enough...
this last picture is of a paper mache deer that has survived many years of storage, flooded basements, and more. it remains unblemished, and overseeing the craftland crew as all the funny shaped tables and brightly colored shelves get put back together.
so it begins! craftland is being dusted off and put back together. what amazes me each time i have seen its transformation from an empty space to a crafty wonderland is how many people pitch in, volunteer their time, and effort to bring this amazing show back to life. even dayna of craftyscientist.com came all the way out from Connecticut to help today (thanks dayna!).
more to come soon....
...and we are live! here it is, the long awaited, (or maybe not), craftland blog! i am your guide, teresa. i thought it would be fun to have a blog to show the hard work & awesome fruits of labor that is about to happen for craftland 2007. we have our space set, we have our postcard image (thanks to the amazing jen corace!), and now we are busy busy bees getting everything together.
today was a marathon meeting, and here are the ladies as we talked, packed envelopes with artist's info, and ate yummy treats:
as the show starts in december i will be posting items that are available at craftland, and any events/happenings we hold. until then enjoy the sneak peek into the behind the scenes of craftland 2007!
